Skyterrace's wide ranging menu in which everything is handmade is quite impressive. The drink bar is also fabulous. Locals often come here and spend hours chatting while enjoying the "all-you-can-drink" option.

From Kintetsu Nara Station, it's a half-hour walk or catch any one of #115 #130 #208 #209 #210 Nara Kotsu buses. After 6 stops, alight at Horensahoyama Sanchome Bus Stop.

DESCRIPTION:

The owner’s long-held dream was to craft pudding inside a space that itself feelt like pudding and that dream came true 10 years ago when Purin-no-Mori opened its door to the public. The interior is over 2 floors and feels like a woodland maze, inviting exploration. 

 

MENU DETAILS:

Traditionally, purin is a custard dessert with a thin layer of caramel sauce, but at Purin-no-Mori they have pushed the boudaries by creating a a whole host of tantilizing flavours. Along with their classic "Daibutsu Purin" they offer rare cheese, cappucino, Yamato tea, Mont Blanc and sakura flavors to name but a few. You can also get some purin-inspired coockies, jam, roll cake and jelly.

 

ACCESS:

Located not too far from where the famed Nara Dreamland used to be. Catch the #118.Nara Koutsu City Bus for and alight at Takanohara Golf Course Bus Stop. It takes about 6 minutes and drops you off right outside. Rent-a-cycle is also another viable option.

DESCRIPTION:

Lucky Garden specializes in Sri Lankan cuisine and well-known throughout Kansai. The restaurant is divided into 2 areas: the goat area and the sakura area. The sakura area is only open during select times during the year, with cherry blossom season being one of them. The goat area has a large open garden, so there is plenty of space for kids to run around and let off some steam. Lucky Garden is also pet friendly, so you will often see locals dropping by when out walking their dogs.

 

KAKINOHASUSHI:

A fabulous selection of Sri Lankan curry. The curry plate comes with 3 varieties of curry and a variety of sides for you to mix and match as you like. There's even a small fire-pit where you can grill your own food. In summer, limited edition lunches are served on giant banana leaves.
